Drury Lane - Sunday's brunch @ 11:11 AM
Once again, the boyfriend suggested for an impromptu brunch date on Sunday. Don't even bother talking about the weekdays- can't really do anything much with a day job. Weekends- we barely have the time to catch a movie in the cinema. This whole renovation process is tedious, so much work to do. Gotta keep track in order to avoid any further delay. Time flies, and his family will be moving to the new place this weekend! 3 months of hard work, and I could somehow visualize the end result now.
Everything is falling into place nicely. Fingers crossed. Really happy for them. Proud of my baby and his elder bro for building a home together. Turning a dream into reality- carefully filtering and buying the right house, right location to sourcing of contractor, carpentry and many other more stuff. Trying their best to minimize the total renovation cost which is definitely not an easy task at all. Of course along the way, we do not expect everyone to just agree with everything. We faced challenges and differences, but glad that everything worked out fine and overcoming all obstacles bravely. It's a tremendous achievement buying your first house, using your hard-earned money. A place you can officially call your own.
Both of us were suffering from our usual backaches. It was already on our to-do-list: to make it a point to head down to Imperial for a good back massage that day but we've gotta find an appropriate time to do so. Moreover, this time round it's my treat. We take turns treating each other for couple massages every weekend (if time allows). Sometimes, once every two weeks.
Therefore, we decided to have our brunch around Tanjong Pagar area, since it's near to Imperial. More convenient for us, even though I don't really like the idea of going for body massage right after food. Googled a little and we ended up at Drury Lane.
This little two storey cafe is excellent for even just a cup of coffee or dessert. The first thing that comes to my mind was their bright red door. So easy to identify with a bit of vintagey feel. I must say it was a good and inexpensive brunch cafe! Was browsing through the menu- they served baked eggs in a pot? But I have decided to stay with the safer choice- egg benes!
Guess what... it's even cheaper here! Egg benes for $12!
It was good, and they served turkey bacon here. Portion was sufficient for me.
While the boyfriend loves to explore for new specialties- he ordered the Savory French Toast ($17). Oh gosh, the french toast was really yummy and soft! I secretly wish he would give me more of it. Just kidding. According to him, those were beef sausages.
The chocolate tarts and cakes that were on the display look extremely appealing to me too. We decided to give it a miss this time. Will definitely come back again. Value-worthy- all for $40! :)
Lastly, today it's daddy's 55th birthday! And also, it's my parents' 30th wedding anniversary! Will be having a massive family gathering tonight. :) Love attending such happy occasion. I can't describe how blessed I am to have such amazing parents in my life. Seeing them happy, is the easiest way to make my heart smile. Love you both the most.
