This weekend @ 12:29 PM

Had Ng Ah Sio's BKT for lunch on Sat and I generally prefer places that offer meesua as an alternative to rice. Just like I prefer visiting a cafe that sells truffle fries - there's always a specific food item I'm looking out for. This is a pretty good deal, for 40++ inclusive of GST and service charge. My recommendation: Dip the braised duck and stomach intestines with their special garlic chili sauce. YUM! However, my personal favorite BKT store has gotta be the one at Havelock, near Zouk - Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh.

BKT kinda reminds me of those supper nights on a weekend... sinful yet serves as a great comfort food after a night of drinking. That's the main thing about comfort food I suppose. It is usually unhealthy.

Honestly, I do not really know how to differentiate a good bowl of BKT. I generally judge based on the taste and texture of the meesua. Ya Hua's meesua is good and I love the soft texture of the noodles. Of course, nothing comparable to my favorite oyster meesua from Taipei.... damn, I MISS TAIPEI.  Speaking of which, my family will be traveling to Taipei next week and I specifically requested them to dapao the famous Chia Te's pineapple tarts!! IT'S THE BEST. Buttery and generous amount of pineapple filling.

Celebrated elder bro's birthday with a mini BBQ session @ home. One of my favorite barbecue items is the crab. This is something different, other than the famous chili crab and black pepper crab. On a random note- I'm kinda craving for Melben's butter crab and it's best paired with the deep fried buns!! SO SO SO ADDICTIVE and it's heavenly- must try!

Gonna be a busy weekend I highly think so... and boyfriend is thinking of signing me up for golf lessons... IM STILL HESITATING.

And it's back to Monday. Feeling lazy.... I NEED MY GETAWAY TRIP ASAP. Okay, back to this space when I've something new to share..... hehe kay bye!
